About me

I am a sculptor of bronze and ceramic limited-edition pieces and commissioned work. I also offer practical classes for people wishing to learn about sculpture and ceramics, host parties for children allowing them to play with clay, and do hand casting for family groups.

Passion and energy ripple through Diana’s sculptures. She is well known for her highly observed and detailed bronze animals that are seen to distil the essence of a range of emotions be it power, fear, beauty, pride, peacefulness.

The malleable nature of clay or plasticine is the starting point of all her work. Sometimes this is transformed to bronze at the art foundry. Sometimes her work is cold cast into resin or fired to ceramic in the kiln.

Varied research avenues have absorbed Diana’s attention to feature safari animals, domestic animals, fish, fruit, plant forms both large and microscopic as well as cellular and liquid shapes.

Diana works and teaches from her studio in her garden in her UK hometown of Newbury, Berkshire.

She has exhibited widely and undertaken many commissions.

Her teaching practise for adults is extremely popular and the end of year student exhibition is a highlight of creativity. Diana also runs three ceramic clubs in a local primary school, creating a much-needed opportunity for freedom of expression for the young.

Diana studied Fine Art Foundation at Winchester Art College and Fine Art Degree with Honours at Cheltenham Art College.  For Diana, the incentive to share all her learning and experience with others is keen.

Every year in May her studio is open to the public providing a perfect chance to see her work up close, perhaps make a purchase or commission a work of art and, at the very least, engage in a meaningful conversation about art and the role is has in all our lives.
